Hello all, I am new here... Bought my KJ CRD yesterday, and looking for some advice...

First off, it is a 2006 CRD Sport. I primarily bought it because I needed a towed vehicle for behind our Motorhome...

Spoke with an ARB dealer the other day, since I want to put on ARB's Bull Bar and a Warn winch. I also want to use it with my Blue Ox, so I am curious what/if anyone else has done similar. I am thinking the ARB bar will be strong enough to support the Generic Blue Ox tabs, but ARB won't comment, though the dealer says they have done it that way before.

My second question is what have you guys done about the severe lack of instrumentation in the KJ's? I would like to add an Oil Pressure Gauge, Turbo Boost and a Turbo Temp gauge. Does anyone offer a KJ specific package, or even a single display LCD type unit on a tuner chip? I certainly would prefer easy.

Thanks in advance, and I will go back to searching the forum here, maybe someone has already answered this?

For you're towing question I think the bull bar will get in the way of your towing equipment. Bull bars/ Brush bars/ Tow hooks/ flat tow front end receivers all use the same area/space on the front end. You can only have one of them. Plus I never seen a KJ that was being flat towed have a bull bar on it.

I noticed you mentinon Generic Blue ox tabs? what are they exactly? Is it something you weld to the bar? Maybe in your case that might works but I never seen anything like that to be honest.

My parents flat tow a car behind there motor home too. So I know whats involved with flat towing.

The ARB will fit on the CRD. Not to direct you away from this site but there is a wealth of information on a sister site [googling LOST KJ's should do the trick.]

Most of the KJ owners only run the bull bar or the ARB - not both. Simply because, as ChiefRudy states, the equipment mounts in the same locations and with the ARB being a bit longer than the stock bumper cover, the bull bar will not mount up without custom work.

I can't comment on the "tabs." I don't have any experience with them.

If you get the 2-pod set I would go with Oil Pressure, Coolant Temp. Of course a couple other nice gauges would be Oil Temp, Trans Temp and a Boost Gauge... The question though - where do you put them all? The KJ is kind of tight on space in the dash.

I noticed some KJ owners also using a ScanGauge - http://www.scangauge.com/

Might be of interest, although from a quick glance, it doesn't appear to support Oil Pressure or Turbo Features.

I like the idea of the gauges in the pillar, especially with a CRD.

Thanks for the info...

I tried to register for Lost Jeeps but they haven't approved my membership yet... Hmm.

By Bull Bar, I mean ARB's unit Bumper and bar combo thingy. And yes, I was aware that it is one or the other kind of deal. I plan on having the tabs (Generic Blue Ox Mounts, they will mount to any flat solid surface) bolted to the face of the ARB on either side of the winch. The guy at the 4x4 shop said he has done a few like that, but alas I have not seen one yet.

Your right about lack of area for gauges. I really would like to add OP, Turbo Temp/Boost, and a trans gauges, but not sure how yet... We will see... Ill check out the scan gauge.

Thanks again.
