Hey everyone I am a new jeep owner and new to the site. I just bought an 06 libery renegade 6 speed and I'm super excited. I was suprised to find one of these so close to home. I ordered the parts to fix the sunroof I just need to do some research and then find the time to do it. If anyone has any suggestions on what to do first I'm open for suggesttions.

Your should already hate the skid plate so the next step is OME / Tommud econo lift / frankenlift lift and ARB front bumper.

On the service side, I would flush or have them flush all the fluid to make sure you start fresh, ******, T-case, Coolant, engine oil etc. And change the spark plug, no need for expensive one. The best in these engine are NGK copper, they go for about 2-3$ each.

(welcome)

As others have said, change all the fluids (engine oil, trans flush, transfer case, front and rear differentials) and go over the undercarriage with a wire brush and remove any rust and paint over it with Rustoleum Hammered Black.

Those rock rails under the rocker panels are probably rusting too - and truth be told they are more for show than actual protection. They're easy to remove and will give the appearance of a taller Jeep.

EDIT: I looked closer at your rock rails this evening - I'm thinking those might be aftermarket. If that's the case they will be far better than factory "rails" since it looks like the ones on there now are made from square tubing.

Read through the posts on lifting your Liberty. Based on the pics yours has sagged a bit and you may want to start budgeting for springs and shocks. Not mandatory, but... :happy160:

Don't be a stranger - ask lots of questions and let us know what projects you're working on with your Jeep.
