New here from Kentucky

Well my name's Brian. I'm no stranger to cars but fairly new to Jeeps and other lifted vehicles. Most of the ones I have owned have been sport compacts. I came on here because I currently own a 2003 Liberty Sport with 122k miles that's my daily driver. Nothing special has been done since it's mainly driven to work and my wife has driven it until we bought her a new car last year. I currently have a 05' Neon SRT-4 for sale as am considering putting a little money in the Liberty once it's sold. I mainly just want to start with a mild lift (2.5-3") and some new wheels and probably some 33's. I have 2 kids so I don't want to get too crazy. Anyway here's a few pics of the SRT since I don't have any of the Jeep. It's nothing special as of now anyway

I really need some ideas on the suspension for the Liberty. I'm thinking something plain for the wheels, probably some black Cragars or something.

For the lift...the common thing to do is Old Man Emu heavy duty springs all around and Bilstein shocks. 245/75-16 is a trouble-free fit, but 265s can be a bit of a chore to squeeze in the wheelwells.
Where in Kentucky are you?

First off...Welcome to the site.

If you plan on lifting the KJ, then 2.5-3" is the safe limit for the IFS set up. 33's will require re-gearing of both diffs if it's 4x4.

Old Man Emu springs are the general rule of thumb for lifting the KJ.

Read some of the lift threads and see where to turn when the time comes to spend money.

I meant to say downtown Louisville. Sounds good man, I never knew there was such a big following of KJ's around here. Mine needs a bunch of work, starting with suspension and wheels/tires. Right now it just has a set of American Racing Casino's with Dayton Timberline a/t's on it. My wife liked them and they were cheap so I bought them for her. The interior reflects the 122k miles on it too so that's next. If I could just sell my damn SRT it would be fine but she's got me on lock down until then. LOL

Welcome! I'm just north of Cinci also, see TBJ occassionally when he gets in my neck of the woods . The ohio group actually is fairly busy, we have meet/greets every 6 weeks or so. you may want to consider doing a scenic road rally iwth us, last one was in Madison Ind. pretty fun. I think there will be some 4x4ing in Maysville at big rock sometime, maybe a trip to livingston in summer.

I have a buddy who totalled an SRT about 4 yrs ago cause the guy thought he could hang with an LS1. The SRT cut over on the my buddy/camaro, ended up in the wall, car got totalled. My buddy has to have a fender painted.
Seriously it is a good looking car, too bad you are having a hard time selling.

Thanks man! I love my car but honestly I just don't drive it. It's an 05 with 40k miles. That ***** about the other SRT. Fortunately for me and my car, I'm 33 and have some common sense. I've never dynoed the car but I know of some with almost the same exact mods making 325 hp. I'm no bench racer, jut using that for reference. Anyway, I have 2 serious buyers right now so I'll let them outbid themselves. LOL

My next car will be a C5 Vette (Z06) but until then the Jeep will have to do for fun. These are things that I wanted to do from the time we bought it but with 2 kids the wife worried about getting in and out of it. Sounds like a great plan. I'll let you guys know when I get everything together. Hopefully I get a phone call today about my car.
