I am thinking about buying a 2003 liberty 4x4 6 cylinder.
It has 142k miles, auto ****** and is a clean looking truck.

I am a little worried about the mileage. I have never owned a jeep. I just really like the looks and size of this truck.

Is there anything I should look for?
Any info would be great. Thanks.

Well the milage is not that important if the previous owner did the regular maintenance on time since he bought it. Yet since you can't know who used it and what they did to it, it's gonna be kinda gambling :)

the Carfax from what I can tell is only reports - reported to them.. If it is a 1 owner and damage or whatever wasnt reported to them it wont show..

yeah it is nice to have the Carfax but don't rely on it, there are a lot of things that don't get reported to them and it also doesn't tell you have the owners treated the vehicles.

Also something I found out a couple of years ago, My wife had a 2000 Chrysler Voyager and was rear-ended by a Suburban. I bought the van back from the insurance company and asked why it didn't have get a salvage or rebuilt title and the insurance company told me that they didn't report it to the DMV, in the state of Virginia if the vehicle is worth less than $6000.00 it doesn't have to be reported at a total loss to DMV. to this day if I run a Carfax or Experian report on the VIN the accident shows up but no mention of it being totaled.

Im curious what Carfax says about my 1963 Falcon. When I was in Hawaii, I had to take it to the DMV for them to verify the VIN. They couldnt believe the VIN was so short. I said its 46 years old what do you expect. The guy and the DMV just laughed and signed the letter so I could register it.
