New Dash Unit and Steering Wheel Controls

Ok, I'm looking into installing an aftermarket dvd/nav system in my 2004 Liberty. The stock radio still works, but I want to redo the entire audio system. Speakers, Reciever and later an amp and some subs, but my Jeep has the stock Radio controls on the steering wheel. It would be very nice to be able to keep those working with an aftermarket unit.

I was wondering if anyone else had done this?

Any suggestions or help you might have, please reply. Also, any advice for replacing the door and dash speakers? The Right and Left front are blown out so I pretty much have 0 bass, and it is very sad.
