I don't post on here much but I need some advice on some tires for my 03' Liberty. I'm about to order the Daystar 2.5" lift and some Cragar Soft 8's. I really can't decide on 16x7 or 16x8. This was my wife's car before and ever since I sold my SRT-4 it's become my daily driver. It's in drastic need for a more masculine look. Right now it has some A.R. Casino's with Dayton Timberline AT's. I honestly like the Timberlines but I'm not against going with a different brand. They are a great economy tire, IMO.

But anyway, I'll probably run the Timberline's for a little longer because they still have good tread left but I'm looking into the future. With the 2.5" lift and 16" wheels, what's the best size tire so that I don't get any rubbing?

I know this gets asked over and over on here but I couldn't find this specific question.

Thanks!!

As far as tires depends on what most of your driving is going to be. No use wearing out a real mud tire if it only runs on pavement 99 % of the time.
Dayton always did make a good tire, sold them for years and ran a lot of them. They have some nice looking AT type out that would do well

It's a daily driver. I just need something that's good for snow when winter comes around. I work for the railroad and go to work at all times of the night so the roads aren't always cleared when I go to work.

First and foremost dont waste your money on a spacer lift for the KJ
and even more so if it is running the OE shocks/struts
DDer or not ,our old KJ was a DDer and we still did coils and shocks at 35K
I am also a believer in "if it aint broke then dont fix it"
you have rims right now so all you need is tires
get some in a 245/75 R16 and be done

Just think
keeping the OE wheels saves you $200+
a spacer lift cost $200
drop another $150 or so and replace coils and shocks

Thanks, I gave up trying to explain the loss of money and the benefits of doing a lift the right way, more so if its your DD that you would want a good ride:-$

I hear what you're saying but the wheels are shot and need replaced. I want something that looks nicer. Wouldn't a 245/75 rub without a lift? I just wanted something subtle. I just want to get it off the ground a little more.

I just went to 245/75-16 tires on 16x7" Wrangle Rubicon (Moab) rims. With my "OME Springs only" lift (about 2"), I have slight rubbing on the front. This apears to be due mainly to the fact that the rims have about 1" less backspacing than the stock ones I replaced.

Not at all. Just look like crap. I just want something nicer. I actually still have the stock wheels sitting in my basement, the spare still has the original tire on it with 0 miles.

I am so confused(Aeh)
you have wheels on the KJ and you have wheels in the basement
and now you want to spend money on even more wheels but install
a crappy lift?(Aeh)

What's so hard to understand? The wheels on it look like shit. The ones in the basement are the stock wheels that I don't like. As far as the lift, like I stated before, I don't know much about lifting a Jeep. Educate me. I have money and believe in doing things right the first time.

Ok, another dumb question. I just ran across some Soft 8's (15" with 33's) that I can pick up for $100 (wheels only). What would be the best tire size to run on them until I can get enough money up for a better lift than the Daystar?
