What parts do we need to buy from rockauto. This is my 17yr old daughter's jeep. This happened today when she was backing out of the driveway.

Lower ball joints
MOOG ones only that are greaseable
Not sure if that company has them or not, never deal with them
That is what happens when you don't check various suspension parts

Moog Part No: K80767
Suspension Ball Joint
2 needed

also check the CV and intermediate shaft very well
may need both
if you do NAPA remanned CV and new Crown intermediate shaft

couldn't sleep so looked this up for you to make it super simple
ROCKAUTO
MOOG K80767
Front Lower
$34.79 each

Thankfully many we have seen for what ever reason, decide to break in the driveway. You are lucky.
I'm afraid to ask how much more damage could happen at speed.
There were also recalls for the front Lower ball joints & rear lower control arms.
The OEM lower ball joints were not greaseable, no zerk ,& Tom's part # above are the good ones to use.
Free check for recall listings here with Vin #: https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehicle/recalls/search.html
The factory repair manual for a 2006 is here, the 07 manual is not available. http://colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/KJ/2006-KJ-SM.pdf
I moved this thread also now into the KJ section for you.

The main reason there are so many that break coming in and out of driveways is pretty simple
The LBJs wear a pattern into the ball joint housing itself when mainly driving a straighter driving pattern
They get worn so much that the spindle itself is on a bind, so much slop, ( when driving straight even )
Then when turning slowing it puts a ton of pressure on the spindle and either pops the spindle out of the pocket or breaks it

Update: Got the wheel off and moved the jeep to flat part of the driveway. Also got parts ordered. Should be here by Wednesday next week.

Yes trying to figure out why someone would go use a below par suspension part on their vehicle
Especially with a son or daughter driving it
Cheap parts are expensive in the long run, as we have all seen many times over.
Plus unless everything was totally worn out in the front suspension many parts shown do not need replaced when a ball joint is let go too long and not checked then breaks .
Just trying to advise that all of that is not generally needed
I have personally replaced ball joints on customers KJs that they let go, never checked and then wore out and broke , only items I mentioned above needed replaced
