Gunner why a CRD?

Who doesn't want a diesel jeep?? Guess it's just me that wants one lol :happy175:
No mostly just because my buddies makes me light up with envy every time I ride it in lol. Idk always been a fan of them, but didn't realize they took so much maintainence lol
But then again, I feel like I have to put something new on my jeep almost every month..so..

The only CRD experience I have is riding with one at one the ECS (East Coast Safari by Lost Jeeps) in 2014. DGeist (Dan) from Lost. Sounded cool and definiately chugged along the trail easier but at the end of the day the serpentine belt came off or something else odd like that, might have been something more CRD related.

Get a 02-03 with the 45rfe ******. I'd personally go with limited for the leather seats and audio control from the steering wheel I find that convenient. I think that the sport model seats suck. Sunroof is always fun (if it's not leaking)

They are much better than the 05-7 Limited seats, now those are terrible

It's very easy and inexpensive to add the steering wheel audio controls and cruise control if you buy one without those options. Same goes for the EVIC, as long as the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry. So, don't let those options be a make or break for you. I added all 3 of those options to my 02.

Also added a double DIN Android Auto head unit and rear view camera. Really nice to have in dash Nav, hands free phone, XM, rear camera and Google voice assist. Makes the vehicle feel 10 years newer than it is.

I find the early cloth seats in my 02 firm, but very comfortable on long rides. Heard that the later ones aren't as comfortable. I don't have a sunroof and don't miss it. Liberty's aren't like many other vehicles. You sit so high and are surrounded by lot's of large windows. I normally like sunroofs to make a vehicle "feel" more open and spacious, but I don't miss it in the Liberty at all.

Which head unit do you have? I lost my left side speakers on my stock unit and are looking to replace mine. Want to add Nav, keep Bluetooth, Sirius, and steerwheel controls. Dont need rear camera, but it might be nice.

Most unfortunate. I just sold my low miles 2006 Sport manual trans. And I replaced it with a 2006 CRD Limited, to match the 2006 CRD Sport already in the fleet.
