So I was out and about hangin out with my friend David and we went out hangin out and decided to go offroad in my STOCK 2004 KJ Sport. Basically everything went great for the first hour and then we saw some mud and were like "its not deep maybe a few inches" well some idiot put mulch over the top of it to cover up it was DEEP. Luckily after about an hour 2 guys 1 in a Wrangler and 1 in a Cherokee came up upon us and had the right gear to get us out. While these people were HIGH as a kite they were still nice and said I needed to post these pics up somewhere so I figured this was good and myspace too. By the way the guy in the Cherokee was 2WD and well being HIGH decided he would try it. Yea he got stuck faster than I did even though his was jacked up and had some nice wheels on it. Later guys Any advice on what I need to do to make it more worthy of the off road terrain?

I'd start by replacing that 2004 Trail Rated badge with the more prominent 2005+ badge.

Next, I'd go for a 2.5" lift and 31" mud tires.

That's about all you can do cheaply. If you've got money coming out of your pockets and nowhere for it to go, I'd suggest even more lift and 32" tires.

You baptised your Jeep. That's exactly what happened to me. I lowered mine in a mud hole a little worse than the one in your pic's. Didn't look bad until I got 4,000 pounds of Jeep in there with crummy tires. I was up to the bottom of the doors in it. I also had to be pulled out. The stock Goodyears arn't any good in that stuff. Get a good tow strap (the kind with loops - not metal hooks). Tow hooks, skids, better tires, for a start.

Welcome to the world of Jeep Mods.

Tow points, skids, and better tires. At least you will be somewhat off-road worthy. Lift and bigger tires can come next if you plan to wheel it a lot. Also, be careful when wheeling in unknown spots and scoop out the place first, never assume.

Oh wow, hahaha. Time to get an ARB and winch. Or never go offroading alone, again.
