Whoops, basically I spaced and bought 5.25 speakers for my KJ, totally forgetting about my post almost a year ago talking about getting 6.5. I went on a little rant about it but got corrected by the post below. So other than that I have a question about the built in amps on my front driver side door. what can I do about those things? Should I just take it into best buy or some other some other custom sound place to have them install my front speakers.

Well, my guess would be that the thing attached to the speaker is the factory amp that I've heard so much about. Personally, I didn't have that to deal with because I didn't have the factory Infinity system.

As for the size, everything I've looked at has said 6 1/2" for the speaker size. I bought four 6 1/2" Infinity 6012's and they fit pretty good. I think the 6 3/4" would probably fit a little better, but I used Dynamat to help fill in what little bit of a gap there was, so it turned out good.

Basically, get 6 1/2" or maybe 6 3/4" and it'll fit perfect.

yeah well I suspect about 90% of you said 5.25 which is what I've been told several times...... That is SOME BULLSH7T !!!!

Uhhh??? That *****. Try to do a search next time on this site. Each link below specifically indicates that the doors are 6.5" speakers. The 6.25" will fit but you do have to do some extra stuff to screw with it. The first post is one of yours back in April when you asked the question of what size speakers. Within your own post someone corrected you since you indicated 5 1/4" speakers. SQLiberty corrected you. Yea, Best Buy/Circuit City may not be selling you the right stuff...however, 90% of us did know what speaker size goes into our KJ. I think you meant to say that rather than what shows in the above quote.

Lastly, the big hunk of crossover looking thing in your front doors are your amps. I believe you have the upgraded Infinity speaker system. I don't have that system so I never had the amps on my speakers. If I am wrong though someone correct me.

yeah my bad I should have checked those past post. I just had it firm in my mind and thought I remebered them telling me to put in 5.25.

Oh well anyway I measured the hole when I took off the door panel and it was a little under 6 inches with the speaker it's self being 6+/- inches, thus I assume 6.5 speakers will fit just fine. And I'm having trouble finding 6.75 speakers that I like. And yes the speakers said infinity on them which is CRAP cause they were still paper cones.

I want to put alpine 6.5 in the front and rear with a MRP-F250 alpine sub 4 channle amp. I wanted to do everything but the amp my self, any suggestions on what to do with those built in amps?
