Going up in size will lose you a little power and mileage. 245/70s don't seem to hurt mileage or power much, but the 245/75X16 will cost you about 6% in power and 1.5 to 2 mpg in fuel mileage. You'll lose some mpg (about 1 mpg) lifting the rig.

Only you would know if it looks better, it sure opens up your tire choices and they are usually a little cheaper also. The rigs with rear disks don't do well with most 15 inch wheels, especially the non-steel models. Rock Krawlers, Soft 8, and other D notch wheels seem to do best. Stock Jeep wheels usually don't.

What about 255 / 70 / R16 ?

I like a wider wheel look. Right now I am set on the 245 70 R16. I like to keep the ride the same as stock and I like the stock rims. What would you do and whats is on yours. Thanks

It's not the rear discs that give problems. The *front* discs are the ones too big for 15" rims. 16" looks better anyway.

I like the those 16's also. I am leaning toward the BFG's. I need a tire that will not slide down the boat ramp! My good years almost cost me a new jeep. Boat floats - Jeep sinks
