I have a 2006 Liberty Limited. I recently noticed a noise when I drive - sort of a clacking sound - that I traced back to where the front drive shaft meets the transfer case (the tail end of the shaft).

While parked, when I move the driveshaft, there's a metal-on-metal clink inside the transfer case that sounds like something hitting the case. When I drive, it gets much worse in 4wd (I don't use 4wd much, I just engaged it to check).

Anyone had this problem or know what it could be?

Thanks
-Shaun

Yes it happens to all of us sooner or later, bet if you look close the rear boot is missing from the driveshaft. New driveshaft or we have a great vendor on here that sells a replacement end.

Hey Tom, the wife killed her front shaft today at Bundyhill....have that end or another shaft around?

BTW, I seen you at Kroger the other day.
