Noticed last weekend that there's two small slits in the leather/vinyl on my driver's side front. They are on the outside bolster on the bottom of the seat (not the back). They are about 1/4" long, not deep at all. They are only visible when you "pull" them apart, when the seat is at rest they are closed. Think I could just put some glue in there and be done? Just want to keep them from getting bigger.

I know there's a leather repair kit out there you dab on the color you need put a textured paper over it and then put an iron on low over it to melt it in. It does a good job but not perfect. Sorry I don't remember the name at this time. If not it's off to have the leather repaired.

Found the kit...it's made my 3m. Thanks for the tip. Just seems like a lot of work considering the spit is pretty shallow and small. So you don't think gluing would be a good idea?

I had a large tear/ puncture (from a screw driver in my rear pocket) that I repaired by putting a patch under it with tent repair glue on it pressing down and taping till cured. It never cracked.

It will given time even if you don't see it. Have a picture I'd love to see what it looks like on the surface. I take them to a canvas repair shop for $50.00 a repair and she does a great job not perfect but real good and most people can't tell, haven't seen a repair fail yet.

No pics, had major problems with vehicle summer of 2012 traded it in on the Jeep. Best move I made. It was repaired for 2 - 3 years you could still see the tear it was jagged - approx 1"x 1" but the glue held and kept the edges of the leather together with me sliding in and out of the seat over this period of time. But its a different type of repair than a crack in the surface.

Update: Found some Permatex Vinyl/Leather glue, trying it out. After a day it's held and looks great. Invisible.
