KK power steering pump weak/Replacement?

I've got a newish to me 2012 KK that just feels like it has low/flat tires on front. It does have PS boost, but it's feeling pretty heavy, literally like flat tires. When I turn it to the limits, right and left, i don't really hear much of the pressure relief sound like I hear on my KJ.

I'm wondering if the pump on an 05 parts KJ is the same? I mean the pump itself, I can see the tanks are different.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I'm kinda suspecting it might be a weakening power steering pump. When i turn the wheel to the limits i barely hear anything, unlike my KJ. The KJ screams! Not much sound on the way side to side either on the KK. It is working, I just suspect the pressure is low. I really doubt they all sold stiff back in the day. The one I have was the personal Jeep of a dealership owner's wife. I doubt she could have driven it like that!

I've had this 2012 for several years. 120K miles. It's my knock-a-round vehicle so it is only getting about 2-3k miles a year now. Two years ago, I replaced the power steering fluid as part of normal maintenance. This winter my wife noticed the steering getting harder. Seems to be stiffest upon first start up and then less pronounced as it's driven, but still firm. No noise from the pump, but I agree with your idea that it's starting to get weak.
