Not as much as my ego.:D

I'll ballpark 2.25ish seeing as it weighs in at 4700ish pounds. Close???

TBJ should have fun with this.

With out getting to much into details as to what I do for a living
all I will say is that it is my job to make sure that the scales they weigh trucks on
keep working correctly

That being said
an '03 KJ LTD ,early '03 with the 45RFE
full skids including an after market trans skid that weighs about 50-60# IIRC
running OME coils and 245/75 MTR's ,5 of them, on OE wheels
a trailer hitch ,I forget what brand
with a full tank of fuel but no one inside
only 2 tow straps ,an axe handle, a shackle, some jumper cables
a 5# CO2 bottle ,full
a bag of tools ,about 30#
only weighs 4580#
or right at 2.25 short tons
I forget what a long tone is but IIRC 1 long ton = 22??#

take what you want from it

A stock 4wd 3.7 KJ is about 4000lbs(2 tons),give or take what options you have,2wd is about 3700lbs,a gas 4 ****** is about 200lbs less in each configuration. The CRD is about 4300lbs stock.

My KJ before the SFA swap was sitting at 5500lbs(lots of armor and tools) and now is well over 6000lbs with the SFA,stock it was 3970lbs.

I parked mine on a grain scale once... weighed in at 4900, and some change. Armor, tools, and extra fluids in the cargo area.

My 03 KJ Renegade weighs ~4800 I believe. And that's empty, no extra parts or anything like that (except my light bar).

Full tank of gas, nothing in it but driver and 1 10" subwoofer box, ThunderbirdJunkie's KJ weighs 4,650 according to a CAT scale.

4351 lbs according to my sticker on the door =]
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, basically how heavy your KJ and it's max carried load weighs.

Kinda odd since my '02 KJ has a GVWR of 5600lbs,then again I have a auto trans and you have the manual.

Sticker on the door is GVWR, not curb weight

X2. Yeah, I thought the first couple of posts were estimating way high. Stock KJ should weigh in around 4000.

Base curb weights and capacities copied from 05 Jeep Liberty brochure are listed in pounds as follows. Base curb weight as I understand it is fueled up and including all fluids....but nothing else.

1) 2.4L power tech I-4 engine = 3,655 (2wd) and 3,851 (4wd)

2) 3.7L power tech V6 engine and 6 speed manual = 3,821 (2wd) and 4,011 (4wd)

3) 3.7L power tech V6 engine and auto trans (42rle) = 3,825 (2wd) and 4,033 (4wd)

Payload capacity (with all occupants and cargo) = 1,100

Maximum gross vehicle weight rating.

1) 2.4L power tech I-4 = 4,950 (2wd) and 5,200 (4wd)

2) 3.7L power tech V-6 = 5,350 (2wd) and 5,600 (4wd)

I do not know what the 54rfe weighs that was used on some earlier models and I believe there was also a different 5 speed standard ****** optional on earlier models than the 6 speed listed in my brochure. I am guessing the differences in total weight would not be that much with these other trannies.

It does not list anything for the CRD.
