Trying to find a parts list and how to for adding cruise to an 05 3.7 liberty
I'm not sure if the 05 has drive by wire or throttle cable, but should be simple. You need the cruise control buttons and harness, and the cruise control servo. Simple. Just go to a junkyard. You remove the air bag it has two 8mm bolts in the back (remove the battery of course) the buttons have screws holding them to the back plate. They're Philips. Then, the servo has three 10mm nuts and a vacuum line going to the fire wall and the cable that goes to the throttle body. Best if you remove the air box.

Disclaimer: I'm not sure of newer models but that's the basics. Plug and play. May be a little different if the newer models have a different setup.

05 is cable. There is a kit you can buy for 200-300 also. Full factory controls

ok I'll take a look around see if I can find the kit, if not I'll hit a junk yard and try to find parts. I didn't know if anything had to be reprogrammed or not for it. Anything to avoid the stealerships.

I bought a kit (ebay) a few years ago that was comprised of factory parts. It included the steering wheel buttons, a short wiring harness, and a servo-actuator thingy (I think). Nothing re-programmed.

It works well when it works. Sometimes - usually when started from cold - it won't even come on. Restart the jeep off when warm, and try again, its back. Not sure why... no codes or anything. YMMV.

Go to the junk yard. Way cheaper. You have all the info you need as I posted before. However, take extra tools. You may find that "piece" with one less scratch or dent on it ;)

Sounds like a clockspring issue. My LR3 had to get its clock spring replaced for the same issue- randomly wouldn't work.
