I'm planning to change the tie rods on my libby, and I'm having trouble finding a inner tie rod tool that will fit. In particular, the loan tool from O'reilly, Autozone, and Harbor freight #69619 DOES NOT fit (the moog flat width is 38mm, does anyone know the size of the OEM tie rod?).
I do want to torque them back properly, so I'd prefer to spend the money to buy a tool that fits properly (ie. no filing/shaving), suggestions please?
For those suggesting a crescent wrench, what brand/size did you use? Does any one know whether the 18" Harbor freight #39620 model is any good? Is there really enough room to swing a 18" wrench without removing the CV joint/ shock?
