Info re KK to KJ engine swap required please.

I have a 2006 KJ Liberty/Cherokee 3.7 auto here in Australia.
The engine is dying and I’m looking at the possibility of fitting a later secondhand 3.7 from a KK.
Has anyone done this and what’s involved please.
I understand the vin is important in this, so it’s 1J8GM58KX5W675812.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
