In theory...............

In theory the more aerodynamically streamlined you can make a vehicle, the more fuel efficient it will be. The ideal shape is roughly teardrop shaped but to be fair, as much as I luv my Jeep, a vehicle weighing 2 tons with the aerodynamic qualities of a garage door is never going to be brilliant and taking the door handle off said garage door wont make an awful lot of difference! But in theory yes removing your mirrors will improve the mpg. There just isn't enough decimal places on the readout to see it! Hehe. Just do what I do and don't look at mpg. When its empty you put fuel in. You cant change the law of physics! Hehe

Under 60mph the highest factor in fuel mileage is rolling resistance, over 60mph it's aero dynamics.

So you're SOL no matter what you do, because a liberty will never be aero dynamic, and most of us don't run a true low rolling resistance highway tire, really all you can do is slow down.

You could lower it, that'll help... I used to have an 02 dodge ram, 17mpg hwy doing 58mph on flat ground. One of the guys on dodgetalk had air bags, and when running about 2 inches off the ground he went up to 23mpg lol

I went from a Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab, full size bed 4 X 4 that got 2 telephone poles to the gallon..... with my Liberty, in my mind anyway, I'm getting great mileage, so much so that it's not a concern....

The only noticeable increase I've experienced since buying this Jeep has been when I changed the plugs to Autolite Double Platinums, and added the Thrush high performance muffler....

Like our friend from the UK just said, when it's empty...fill'er up....
