I think if your ultimately worried about the mileage your getting perhaps you should save up for a lighter, less powerful, more aerodynamic car.

Or....you could get a 412HP mustang which still gets 26 MPG HWY, and would smoke the a$$ off your Jeep....lol

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
If your vehicle came from the factory with both side mirrors they both must be used(not folded).

Now windshield wipers is another story and varies from state to state. Here in CO you must have wipers but the windshield is not required, figure that one out:confused:.

Want good mpg's
Sell the Jeep
Don't want to sell the Jeep stop
worrying about mpg's

Hyper milers are a danger to other drivers on the road. Those people do many dangerous things to save a few bucks. They tailgate big rigs to draft off them. They drive without mirrors. They inflate their tires to dangerous levels. They drive slower than the rest of traffic.

Is saving a few bucks at the gas station really worth risking the lives of the other drivers on the road?

I agree........................

But I must drive at lower speeds as my Jeep is geared for power not speed, but always try to take the back highways when I must go long distances. In town there no issue, usually "pushing" those idiots to at least go the posted 40mph(hey I can do 40mph,but 75mph is scary with 35" tires though).

Yeah, but I am sure you drive in the right hand lane at lower speeds. These people like to drive between lanes to get their tires on unused part of the road.

Yep I'm in the far right lane.Does suck though being limited to 62-65mph when I used to cruse at 75-80mph before:mad:,but the price I paid to have more fun offroad(if I every get to go).

On long trips I take off the antenna (XM) and fold in the mirrors. I also crank up the tire PSI to near max. I drive at 60 MPH on cruise and its gotten me as high as 38 MPG with the stock Goodyears. Since Ive installed Firestone Destination LE's my best as been 35.

Seems like a good waxing would be better then folding the mirror and safer too.

He's CRD...I'm not sure what those normally get, but when I first got my Hemi Ram 4x4, I was able to get about 22 HWY, so it would seem to me a diesel suv could get into the 30+ range. I know for a fact that the Jetta TDI's could get close to 50MPG's, so it wouldn't surprise me that someone who is super conscious of their driving habits could pull mid 30's in a 4x4.
