Hi,

I have mine covered by a sheet of steel 5 mm thick and bolted to the chassis. I will take a picture for you this evening when I'm back from work and post it here.

Where about in France are you?

Chris

We've got the 1/4" skid plate from Skid row in the US. It is about 4' long and covers all of the vulnerable bits underneath. Well worth the investment and with the cheap cost of shipping these days, probably cheaper to get here in the US and ship to you in France than to get it made in France.

We use our CRD off road a lot to go to the cabin which requires going through 12 miles of unimproved roads (these are New Mexico 'unimproved', which means that they are more like goat tracks) to get there. The skid regularly deflects rocks which stick up 8"-12" and also drags along the high centre of the road for many yards at a time; it has never let a single thing hit the filter, pan, transmission or transfer case.

Here it is: the petrol and the diesel are the same.
