How I fixed my fuel lag or pedal lag in my CRD

I hated the pedal lag so much that I believe I found a way to correct it. I used to bleed pump that fuel filter housing daily. And this a pain you are just getting the air out that floats to the top of the filter housing and gets sucked into the fuel pump and so on. So I threaded a I believe a 3/8 x 3 inch long brass tube into the fuel filter housing it goes down near the middle of the fuel filter where the fuel hangs out not the air. And no air and no lag. I did this a very long time ago the CRD sat for 7 years while I struggled with work and other things. But my son said I should post these fixes I come up with so here's a picture too. I bought at Home Depot plumbing and it was cheap not like most parts
