Hi Gang.
2002 Jeep Liberty
Trying to find out what to call the rubber that is under the most forward part of the hood.
It is Under and runs across the width of the front part of the hood.
It is held in place by plastic pins.
When I lift the hood the rubber strip falls as the pins have either deteriorated or broken away.
I have been looking through parts lists and can not find part numbers or what to call the rubber strip or the pins .
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers
Tony

If it's just the retainer clips you need, usually you can get them in the "help" section of Autozone or the like.

If you need the weather stips themselves, parts 13 and 14 here. Can also use the part numbers to search for better pricing.

Thank you Kejobe
Yes I think all I need is the retainer clips.
Unfortunately I went to the local Auto parts store and the guys weren't too helpful. They couldn't work out what to do cause they weren't listed in the computer, no matter how I tried to explain what they were for. I even took one with me and still nothing..
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Tomorrow I will try Advanced Auto and O'reillys.. I'll check back in and let you know how I get on
Cheers
Tony

Stuff like that will be on shelves in the 'public' part of the stores. If the geniuses behind the counter have no idea what you're talking about, just walk around until you find it.

They're usually called door panel retainers, or trim panel retainers. Advance Auto has a bunch of different kinds.

Either buy the retaining clips or just run a small bead of silicon inside the weatherstripping. It'll hold and you'll be able to take it back off still if needed.
