I am swapping out the driver's side CV joint with a reman from Napa (thanks for the advice), but I can not get the old out through the wishbone. I've tried cutting the boots off to make it smaller, and the only other thing I can think to do is pull the wishbone next.

Is there a trick here?

Please let me know

Sorry to put it this way but....Common sense, if the object that you are removing is larger than what you are trying to pull it through, something has to be removed first
So yes the clevis needs to be removed, or what you are calling a wishbone

Yeah that has to be taken out, as well as the knuckle so disconnect the LBJ, UBJ and the tie rod end. I didn't take the whole knuckle off at first but then realized that's the only way.
