Just an honest plug: If any of you need lighting, check out www.compltd.com a large part of his business is lighting for Rally cars. Those guys need LIGHT! I have a pair of bulbs in my 2005 Ram, and have been very pleased. My Liberty is a Renegade with light bar, and Hella Fogs, so I have never seen the need for any additional light.

Last year at a campsite 40 miles outside of town, I was approached by an American camper in his converted camper van, as earlier in the evening, while dark,I pulled in with the kj into my camp area, and left kj running with lights on to illuminate my campsite. He said man what kind of light bulbs you got in there, cause as you went by my site, it was like daylight. Showed him the PIAA headlights, with fogs on/off and he asked if I was on high beam when I went by, and I told him no they were on low, let me show you the high's....turned on the high beams, and he said I got to get me some of those...
Next night he returned to show me he had gone into town and got some PIAA's for his van. I asked him how much he paid and he replied $125, and stated it was the best money he ever spent cause he came up from California, never knowing what he should have bought years ago. He could not understand why it was so dark in the mountains on the way up, and now looks forward to driving back with his family safer, because of the way better road illumination, and he also said the white is easier on the eyes at night and more pleasing too. Thanks... come on over for a beer I owe you one he said.
I think he will be one happy camper now...:)

Funny you should say that ... They will take a head on collision into a cement barricade ... but may only work for another 4 months after :D My drivers side bulb finally gave out this week. 18 months is the lifespan under extreme abuse. Pass side bulb is still going strong though. I'm heading to Performance Improvements tomorrow to get a new set.

Upon closer inspection ... it would appear that my headlamp has a leak somewhere, either that or the bulb wasn't seated properly against the back of the housing. Either way I now have a slight haze inside the housing and a tiny but clear imprint of frost left in said haze. :(

Since the bulb lasted 4 months past the impact I think that moisture was more likely the problem. I was thinking about trying to repair it (and I may still try for the helluvit) but I'm going to order a replacement instead... before I put the new bulb in.

Luke, That sounds like a good plan to get a new housing, then you are guaranteed clear and properly sealed. Hope you continue testing the other working bulb, to see how long it lasts, You might even get a few years out of it!!!....
