I have been looking around for a few days and could not find what I was looking for, so a new thread it is. Feel free to say "search noob" if I should have found this elsewhere.
I bought by daughter a 2002 Liberty with what I thought was a small head gasket leak (external, oil only). It turns out to be a bit more severe than I originally thought and the heads may have to come off.
My question is about the Special Tool 8429, Chrysler Secondary Camshaft Chain Holder. Is there a way around buying this tool, something that could easily be fabbed up, or should I just pony up for the tool and maybe sell it used after the job?
This is the tool:
Chrysler Secondary Camshaft Chain Holder same as MLR-8515 and MLR-8429 | eBay
