Maybe that's why they left it...for some poor unsuspecting person to come and take it away and empty it.....and then they come back for it saying "hey that's my trailer". :p

I know someone that got a ten foot flatbed trailer in a similar fashion... The owner piled it up with every bit of junk they could find, evidently they were cleaning out a grove of trees or something and then didn't know what to do with it. They backed the trailer into the driveway of an old empty farm place out in the middle of nowhere and left it. The guy that owned the land asked the cops about it and they wrote up a report and he moved it out of the way into the trees. About nine months later we were out pheasant hunting and saw that trailer and my bud thought it was perfect for what he wanted. We asked the farmer and he said take it, it's yours, but you have to take the junk on it too!

We spent half a day pumping up the tires and re-greasing the wheel bearings to make it road worthy, good thing to check on that trailer you got there by the way no telling how long it sat somewhere, and we got it hooked up and on the road. Well by this time steel prices were pretty good, so we went to a scrap yard and they took nearly all of it, just some stuff that they didn't want, and we made $180 for our effort. One more trip to the city dump to get rid of the rest of it, cost $15 to get rid of the other junk, so we still cleared $165. He paid me the $65 for helping and took the $100 and put it towards the registration.

Funny thing is about a week later he was hauling something and one of the cops that wrote up the report on the trailer being dumped pulled him over to ask some questions, he thought he was the guy that dumped it originally or something. He explained what happened and the cop was like "saved us the work of towing it to impound" and he didn't give a darn!

I found a 1972 Morris Mini that way!
It sat and sat abandoned on an old unused section of road way. I finally went to the tow company who removes all abandoned vehicles and asked them that if they tow it to their yard, Swing past my place instead and I'll make it worth your while!
(The owner of the tow outfit happens to be in the same Hot Rod club as my dads neighbour)
A week later it was deposited neatly in the back yard when I wasn't home with a note under the wiper "40 oz. bottle of Jack Daniels, a 24 of Kokanee and the wheels for my Rod trailer!"

I stripped that thing of parts and made my cash back 20 fold!:D

It must be a Canadian thing, but what is a 24 of Kokanee?
