Front Diff Artwork

I knew my front diff drain and fill plugs were a little "comprimised" over the last few oil fluid changes, and noticing some leakage, last week I changed out the diff fluid after only 6k miles and installed new fill/drain plugs. 800 miles later I'm shocked to see the same leak but more focused on the drive shaft and the artrwork of spattering to the rear. WTF? Whats the dee-lee-o. Big $$$$ or What!

And here I was expecting some really tacky European tasteless airbrushed mural on the front diff cover!

What a relief!

It's just a small amount of gear oil seeping or something else I wouldn't even worry about!

Seal in the housing may need replacement,would check end of breather tube just to be sure it is not clogged causing pressure to build up.

clogged breather or bad pinion seal
pinion seal is an easy fix but I would hold out until it is getting low on oil
that may be a drip every 1K doing that

Breather tube? Gotta check into that-thanks! Pinion WAS leaking, and it's diaper (seal) is changed out now.

Happy baby? No!--- Now I see more of the previously described artwork on right rear differential tube and gas tank. I cleaned it up somewhat to get a better idea of how much it's leaking over time. You can see some oil left over at the diff housing. This one looks like more big $$$. Quick,-- someone remind me that throwing $$$ my JEEP to keep her happy is best. 107K mi now.
