I cancelled the snow this year for Ottawa. It's nice and sunny right now, just the way I like it.
Going fishing today! Gonna try my new brakes with the boat in tow.. L8R

We caught the west side if the storm at the Snow/Rain line. We only got an inch or so where I am. Lot of ice in the snow as it fell. I'm sure it weighed heavily on limbs of trees further north.

Friends of ours in CT lost power. Good thing they have a woodstove.

The storm blew south of us. We got maybe 1/4 of an inch barely and now it is 59 degrees and gone....

about 4 inches of snow/ice/sleet.
trees down everywhere.
I lost 3 "decorative' ones in the garden, one of which I just recently uprighted from Irene.
Power's been out since 2PM EDT. rigged my 5000W generator into my main panel so I can selectively power up various circuits.

My stepdaughter took me treetop trekking and zip-lining today, was a sunny 50 degrees F...

Meanwhile last night my boss texted me from New Jersey asking me for help shutting down some servers in our data center... no one else in my group had power and he said they had 12-16 inches of heavy snow on the ground and 6-8" more on the way, trees down everywhere.

Sounds like a crazy time! Hope everyone weathered the storm ok.

here in north jersey, it took down the tree in front of my house. i never work weekends but the one day i did, it saved my liberty which otherwise would have been a pancake. the tree did get the power line to our house though we were without for 4 days.

we were power-less for 4 days.
luckily I have a 5000w generator that I have a legit backfeed setup installed in my panel. the running "joke" for the wife around the water cooler after things started getting back to normal was that she was roughing it because the electric towel warmer in the master bathroom was turned off. actually I probably could have run it.

been doing a couple generator installs since then.
