Tie rod could have play, they do wear out. As for dropping rack, would not worry about it. I would go some place else as that place seems to have no experience with lifted vehicles.

Can't lower it and don't need to anyways
Like Riden stated go somewhere else since they sound like they don't know what they are talking about
Just pick up a new rod end and then alignment good as gold
I'm sitting over 4 inches of lift and no issues with the tie rod ends
Actually been lifted 167,000 miles and the left side is still the original
Of course any lifted vehicle will wear parts faster than unlifted but you're OK

Not sure .. the one directly under the oil filter can go bad if oil has dripped on it repeatedly.
Does the whole rack move when you turn the wheels? I've never had any noise issues with my steering rack.

Even when the steering rack on mine was on it's way out, it wasn't noisy. The inner tie rods were leaking and the bushing that Luke mentioned was toast.

I'm sure it's possible, however. Its it a creak in the rack, or possibly the power steering making noise?
