Foglights on with Highbeams help needed

Ok, I saw the post for 2002 liberty that did this mod and after getting under the dash, my 2008 is totally different as far as the relay is concerned. I learned the relay is not under the dash (or at least I didn't see any) so I assume it is in the engine compartment where the rest of the fuses are. I should be able to find the wire at the light switch although since I didn't find the relay, I didn't get that far. I looked under the hood and located the fuse box that contains all the wiring and relays. I searched for the relay but none of them appeared to be for the light switch. Need help identifying which or where the relay is for this mod on my '08. Thanks in advance.

Good luck with frying your BCM and not to mention the fact that high beams with fogs on is illegal.

The BCM is the Body Control Module,it controls all the interior and light functions,the circuits are not ment to handle that much current load and you take the chance of frying the BCM and/or the turn signal/light switch staulk..

That banner is the company I work for making aftermarket products for KJ's and KK's,sure I guess I'm spamming just you with quility armor/HD accesories and prototype testing and true coil spring 4" lift for your KK that nobody else will bother withwtf.gif.

Sure offroad it's fine but it is illegal to run high beams with foglamps on the highway.You want better light offroad get some offroad AUX lights and be done with it.Hella makes some good ones for like $50-$60 for a pair.

Thanks for the explaination, makes sense. BTW, I posted about the roof basket from Jeep that did not fit, you pointed me to your employer's site, but it looks like you guys don't have one yet.

And yes, I will be interested in a lift kit, but probably not a 4" one. My last jeep was an XJ with a 4 in lift and 31s, I miss that, but I must say scraping the skid plates over rocks in a Jeep with less than 200 miles on it is fun!

What are you looking for in a roof rack? As I am still developing new products for the KK, and haven't been able to get my hands on one with the slider top yet, I'm open to any info or suggestions to provide a quality product that is going to work for the customer. I'm glad to see the advertisements get some attention. Troy is a little blunt, but he is a great guy and passionate about helping, as he is one of the most knowledgeable individuals I know about the liberty and just about anything else with a motor and tires. His responses are usually pretty helpful, they just aren't always sugarcoated.

I am personally saving up to purchase my own KK in the near future, as I am also a big time XJ fanatic (currently have a 98 with 5" and 35's), and the KK is the only thing lately that has caught my attention for my next buildup. I already have full width ford 3/4 ton axles sitting in storage waiting for me to pick one up. We are working on new stuff all the time for all liberties. Our banners are paid advertisements, as we donate several thousand $$ per year in raffle prizes that proceeds are used to go to groups that are dedicated to the cleanup and protection of our wheeling trails across the country. We are the first and only company to come out with sliders for the KK, with many other products planned real soon. My company is dedicated to helping out the Liberty community in accessories that no one else will touch, as well as technical info to help you do things right and save you time and money from learning from mistakes that we have already done for you.

Anyways, the KK guys are new to the scene, and we haven't had much intimate time with the KK yet, so if you think of anything made of steel that will protect your new investment on the trails, pass it on and we will look into it. We don't make headlights or seatcovers or anything like that.

I can't help you with the slider, I didn't get it, not really for me, my family is pale skinned and we live in AZ, doesn't fit!

As far as a roof rack is concerned, I bought the one from Jeep and it did not fit, on my XJ I just used a Thule bag, I actually ended up using it on the KK since the rack I bought did not fit and we were going camping. The problem with the bag is it puts weight directly on the thin roof skin, we could hear it buckle when we bounced on the trail (yes I acatully use my brand new jeep as I hope it was intended to be used).

My big wishes are, (1) a descent bolt on front brush guard for mounting off road lights and a winch, but one that does not hinder approach angles, (2) the roof rack to get camping gear up top out of the interior so 4 people can fit inside comfortably.

A 2 in. lift that will accomodate 30 in tires would be nice, the fender wells seem to be Ok as is, but man the skid plates (stock) seem to really skid, way more than any of my XJs seem to when they were stock, although this is my first 4x4 with ifs, so maybe that's the issue.

The rear, I have the hitch/tow package seems pretty well protected and out of the way unlike the front with the stupid air dam that sticks down and screws up the approach angle. Still have not figured out how to "easily romove" the air dam as some have said can be done.

Do your rock sliders bolt on? Do you have to remove anything from the Liberty to fit? Do they reduce the clearance of the rocker panels? (I am guessing they do, but by how much?)

Ok, I am under the understanding that the fog lights and highbeams are going through the BCM and no relay is used. Is this something new on the '08 or is there still a relay that can be modified like the post on the '02 fog light with highbeams. As for the BCM getting fried, I don't feel that would be a problem since the fog lights are on when the low beams are on anyways. Is there really that much more current drawn with highbeams vs lowbeams?
