Driving lights are like pencil beams, far and straight. Fog lights light up alot really close and are more like a flood light.

which, in your opinion, is better to have. i have HIDs for my headlights but have no high beams b/c of them and i have stock fogs. what do u think would be best. i dont really do much off roading at night and would really like the lights i get to act more or less like a set of high beams to make up for losing them to the HIDs.

The driving lights that I have light up ALONG way infront of me. I have them adjusted that way b/c I never use my high beams. I turn my fogs, dims, and hellas on and I can see EVERYTHING.

For me, I like the driving lights, they are great for seeing animals and such on the road. You must treat these light high beams and turn them off when cars come. Ive never been pulled over but Im purty sure you cannot use these on the road, I do anyway. It all depends on your area I guess.

At least in Arizona, I don't believe they need to be covered. However, here you're only allowed to have four lights illuminated on the front of your vehicle. I've seen trucks with the Baja style lights driving around here.
