fix or ditch?

My '02 KJ has a slight rod knock, it has 168K on the trans and about 15k on the ****** rebuilt motor. My question to you all is if i should pay the $2000 to get it fixed by a professional or should i junk it? i have $800 into the tires and $400 into the exhaust. the trans shifts smooth and there isnt a spec of rust or any other mechanical issues (that im aware of, knock on wood) Give me your two cents guys, keep or ditch?
