Well we did it again. My daughter has enjoyed her 02 Libby so much her brother wanted one. I talked him into getting a KK based model. We found a Dodge Nitro (fake Liberty) with only 116K miles with blown head gasket. It had been sitting for 6 months. We tried to start it at the sellers location and it would barely turn over. i hooked my jump box to it and we got it to crank. Ran really good, quite. Turned it off and tried to start it again to load on trailer and the it was again cranking really hard and the starter let out a puff of smoke and died. I figured water in the cylinder causing it. I got it home and pulled the plugs and sure enough there is water in cylinders 2 and 4. Two questions I have for those who have done this job: One, what is a good price to have the heads pressure tested and surfaced? And two, is these a reputable dealer who sells recon heads?

i decided it was a head gasket-only problem. Had the one head shaved 5 thou to clean up the erroded part. $100 to some old guy with a mill in his garage. Has been good since.
