I went to Valvoline the other day to get my oil changed, I hate the cold so they do it for me in the winter. They suggested I get my engine flushed. Should I get this done, they charge $40 for it.

Thanks

What are they flushing? Coolant? Brake Fluid? Fuel Lines? Your money?

I've never heard of an "engine flush," so I'm quite suspicious!

I have no idea what they are flushing. They unscrewed something and it looked like it was plastic and it was covered in crap.

That was where the oil goes in. Normal on libbys, dont waste your money. Its from condensation in the engine oil. There was a thread on it somewhere.

Gotta love the 10 min oil change places.

Just a couple days ago our local 10 min shop didn't tighten up my mom's oil filter. Oil on the ground everywhere.
