Doing a dumb thing, I poked a hole in my poly gas tank. With a sawzall, cutting the lower track bar out to replace without dropping the tank. So, I need to replace the tank.

What is the difference between Mopar part

all seem to be same. I found quite a few used as new is discontinued.

Thank you

Done job. It was more intimidating than bad. Although I had the luxury of a lift and a transmission jack. All done 3.5 hours. That included treating some rust. I so wanted to replace the upper rear control arm however couldn’t get the through bolt out that was behind the rear brake rotor. No matter how hard I tried the locking ring would kit budge past the dirt indentation. All in all a successful morning. I am gun shy about filling full right now but that gestation too shall pass.

The tanks should be the same. AA being the oldest and AC the newest. If for some reason I am incorrect someone will point that out.
In another life I was a parts counterman at a Five Star Jeep dealer in Wenatchee Washington. The part numbers are all the same tank more or less. MOPAR uses the last alpha-characters to show upgrades/minor changes on parts. Sometimes if they change vendors (the ones who actually make the part) the number sequence will change entirely or if another car in MOPARS product line takes the EXACT SAME PART it may change because MOPAR considers one car “obsolete” and no longer will provide factory parts for that specific line but is continuing to provide the EXACT SAME PART on a different car. If you can find one of the original part numbered part it will fit fine and work as that was the original replacement part for that part on that model. Given the choice, however, I will ALWAYS use/buy the most current number available because in some cases the new number is a result of a TSB (technical service bulletin) or recall issue so while the old part will fit it may be prone to issues. I always research parts on moparpartsgiant.com by VIN before I start looking on eBay just to make sure I have the most current part number I am hoping to find as NOS (New Old Stock) somewhere. I hope this clears the mystery and aids in the future!!!
