CV Joint/ Boot replacement?

So i recently discovered the boot on my CV joint was bad. Just curious if this means i should just replace the boot or the whole cv joint? When i engage 4wd currently it clicks at low speeds.

Front driveshaft or front CV half shaft?

If front driveshaft, see above.

If front CV half shaft, go to NAPA and get a reman, not new, reman CV half shaft. Boot's torn, dirt and grit have gotten in there and done damage.
