Crank seal help

I have 2005 liberty 2.4 oil leak i pulled crankshaft pully to change front seal BUT after removing pully theres no trace of the old seal.where would it go? Also should new seal fit tight on the crank? The one i got is really sloppy

You have to remove the timing belt so you can pull the timing pulley off the crank to get to the front crank seal.
