Console swap?

Hi guys, I am new here. I just purchased a 2006 Liberty. I am very pleased with it but I do have one gripe. The armrest is too low and too far back for my comfort. It looks like the consoles off the older models have the arm rest closer to the front of the car. Does anyone know if this is true and if they are interchangeable? I could get one off Ebay pretty cheap and swap it.

Marlon did just that - swapped an older unit into his 2005 CRD. Might do a search to see if you can find his posts about it. IIRC it wasn't too difficult.
