Looking for an inexpensive but still nice looking solution for replacing smashed up bumper covers on the limited. Unfinished plastic's are cheap enough, but the local paint shops will bend me over to paint them the metallic khaki so Im looking for some alternatives...
Thought about getting them chrome-coated...Anyone have any experience with chrome-coating plastic bumpers?
Maybe someone like this company:

Other suggestions for a bumper solution are welcome, but should be cheaper than or equivalent cost to getting new OEM ones painted.

I will be posting a WTB once I meet the requirements for some light metallic khaki bumper covers to see if anyone has some kicking around.

Oh yeah, the other option is to try to paint them myself. I have a spray gun and compressor, but very little experience so Im not sure about the metallic paint...Anyone have any experience painting this color?

Metallics can be a pain.

If you decide to give it a "shot" (pun intended), make sure you shoot a coat of adhesion promoter before priming. That way the paint will stick to the bumper.

When mixing the color, add in a flex agent so the paint won't crack over time.

I shot some parts in metallic several years ago. I sprayed a few light, "dry" coats of the color, just wet enough to avoid orange peel. I then shot a bunch of clear coats, after which I color sanded and buffed.

The parts all came out pretty well, but I was shooting relatively flat pieces. The contours on bumpers can create challenges in getting even coverage, with consistent "flake" dispersal.

Best of luck...
