I'm trying to find this folding cargo storage shelf/ bin and can't seem to find anything useful. The only results I can find are new old stock that are trying to charge $200+ for the part and $100+ for shipping. It was a factory add on made specifically by jeep for the liberty. Does anyone know of what part I'm talking about and/or know of a way to get one?

A bit of plywood and some thin carpet? Brings back memories of installing stereos onto old cars! Building boxes and shelves to hold speakers.

Yeah. I found another thread that had instructions for exactly that. Currently in the process of building it

Ive had this in my ride for about 9 years and love it, put camo fabric on it and mounted a net to the top and some gripper brackets to the bottom for tools

I'd like one but I often carry my dogs in the back so I haven't bothered

It would be cool to make one that would simply swing down behind the back seat when you need the space for a dog.

It would have to be a little smaller in width and length so that it just cleared the floor as well as the humps of the cabin sides when folded down , but it sure looks like with some simple hardware, like a couple metal pipe straps and two 1/2” gate latch style slide boltsit wouldn’t be that hard to do using the metal seat brackets for the swing point and the plastic grooves that keep the oem vanity cover from retracting, to hold it securely in the up position.

The hardest part might be keeping it from rattling too much but I’m a big fan of silicone tubing and silicone tape.

Of course you couldn’t keep anything on it when it was on the down position but otherwise would be a useful shelf with the obvious added benefit of hiding what’s underneath it when in the up position.
