can build sheet be wrong??

i'm just curious if a build sheet could be wrong? there's some things on my sheet that make no sense to me. like i have an 03 jeep. build date is 1-03 and cross member for ****** goes back towards rear and i have the box on the pass side fender for the 45 ******. on my sheet it says i have the 42 and also on the door jam, says my stock tire is the 215/75/16 and on the sheet it says 235/70/16......i'm confused....

Yes, the build sheet can be wrong. There's a few people on here who have the 42RLE and their build sheet states that they have the 45RFE.

build sheets are commonly wrong. What ever seems to be laying around is what is put in. I had a 1995 chevy c1500 that had more c2500 parts on it than 1500 parts, even though the build sheet said otherwise. It was a real PITA the first couple of times I went to get parts for a c1500 and realized they were wrong.

That's exactly how it's done. The line isn't gonna stop just because a certain tire or fan shroud isn't in stock at the time. Now maybe something like bumper covers or ... engines... yes.

The sticker on the door is generic. I had 235/65/17's but they were not on that door sticker.

I would demand the 45rfe if it said I should have it but I didnt!

it says i have the other ******(42) but everything on the jeep says i have the 45???

it also says nothing of the ****** cooler thats on the jeep either.

I'd say you lucked out with that one. LOL. I have also had the same issues with tires. I always thought 235/70/16 was the standard size and now I realize that my tires seem oversized compared to most KJs I see.

Straight6Jeff, although getting parts was a pain, not bad to get most of a 2500 for a 1500 price.
