Ryan,Jen and I just got back from 3 days of serious adventure and fun! The weather HOT, clear, and the lake is absolutely beautiful. So are the campsites in the Provincial Park!
We took my boat onto the most beautiful sandy beaches, swimming, went off road on day 2 in Ryan's amazing rig, and had just some great times. Between the two Jeeps we had more camping gear then most stores, and I do not think you can load a KJ anymore than what Ryan and Jen did to theirs!
So I begin with Day 1 on Thurs and the set up of the camp and will leave you with a shot of the lake, and will let Ryan fill in with a gallery and comments.:):D
Cheers, and Thank You Ryan & Jen ! You cooking was great, really appreciated, and your company was warm and welcoming! Next time I will bring more wine!!

Unloading Ryan's Jeep is floor to ceiling with great camping gear!!

While on the Boat as we beached, there were eagles and falcons living side by side.
I had to upload this photo as these domestic birds of prey and this blanket are my favourite.
Awesome relaxing shot of Ryan as Jen holds the blanket up !:)

After leaving the boat launch it was time to explore.
These photos really do not do justice to the 10 mile long lake.
Large trout in 10 fish groups were spotted by Ryan, sun tanning in shallows at the far end.
Many rivers and glacier streams feed onto this lake.
The water is very clear and 54 degrees when deep and 65-68F in shallows.
Just pick a spot drive the boat onto shore, numerous campsites found at different beach sites. Simply beautiful and remote.

Jen and I were up fairly early each morning while Ryan liked to sleep in.
Jen would put the water on for me as coffee was appreciated first thing! Thanks Jen!
You sometimes had to get creative to get Ryan up though...

We made some new friends at the campsite, and these guys liked the cashews!

This crazy, lazy chipmunk liked the shade under the boat trailer.
Was often seen jumping up the wheel wells of trailer and Jeeps.
I think people hide stuff on top of their tires.
Later Jen had this fellow on her foot begging for peanuts.

More Pic's

The first pic is from one of the beaches that we stopped at on Chilliwack Lake, the water was so clear!

The second pic is the first beach we went to, it was about 9km from the boat launch. This beach had a really soft sandy/muddy shoreline that felt awesome on the feet :)

The third pic was also from the first beach we went to. The shoreline was really cool the way the water carved it's way through the sand/mud.

Creatures

These are the creatures that came to visit us at our campsite. The little stripped one was so cute, but he was not allowed to come and get alot of cashews because the other chipmunk and the birds would chase him away :(

Good times. I see you managed to get a pic of Ryan's good side eh? Poor camera.

Yeah, thank god for photo retouching/censoring

Thanks for sharing the great pics. I too want to do a trip like that before the summer is over but I doubt I have near the amount of camping equipment that you have.

I have buddies of mine who have no problem camping in the middle of winter in the deep woods. Imagine!?

Part 4

Here are some more pictures from our trip.

#1 is Ryan and I in our comfy tent laughing at poor Tim who is in his tiny little tent with a cold air mattress.

#2 is some bird foot prints in the sand on one of the beaches we visited.

#3 is the first beach we stopped at.

#4 is the second beach we went to. Tim and I went for a swim on this beach, it was cold but nice to get out of the hot sun and cool off.

#5 is some foot prints we saw in the mud. I don't think they where dog, more like a big cat kind of foot prints.

LF just try to get out back into nature, it is rejuvenating!
All you really need is a tent, air mattress, propane stove with a lantern, sleeping bag and cooler with food, beverages or powdered ice tea and some basic cookware. I have quite a bit of miniaturized stuff for the boat but Ryan is really a packed Jeep/******** at the comfort Inn.

PS: Jen, Thanks....I should have stolen one of your quilts while you slept.
The tent is not that small..4man (looks like a 2) and I had a queen size Coleman Air mattress, but you are absolutely right the cold comes right up through it, and a roll out piece of 1" high density foam is what is needed to sleep on.

Off Road Ryan's JBA-Arms and OME / Clevis lift really shines off road.
There is no doubt your rig Ryan is more than capable for handling the territory. I was surprised how well it handled the large potholes, and gulleys.
Ryan was not shy about bush wacking either...good thing for Meguires #2....
Awesome time....tell them the story that we were possibly Illegal aliens into the US?-sticker...
