So I was at my usual "weekly" repair day, replacing ball joints and struts on my 05 Liberty. When prodding around I noticed all of the rubber bushings in the differential carrier are pretty much shot. I was able to move it 1/2" or so in any direction just prodding with a screwdriver.....
That's a project I haven't really done before, curious if there are any tips/tricks?
I do have a ball joint press (one of the c arm types). Looking on Ebay I didn't really see bushings for it?
I'm guessing I have to take it off to change them? For what it's worth I have a spare on a parts Jeep that may have better bushings. I might consider just doing a swap if the bushings are too much trouble.
