I do not have a picture handy, but what is the little square box in the intake track for a 03 libby gasser? I see with a lot of CAI kits this is eliminated without any problems. What is the purpose of this box? Improve low end tourqe? Help idle?

Found one. Tthis box on the right with the 3.7l stamped on it.

I'm not sure what the purpose is. I do know there are two breather tubes coming off the back side if it for crankcase ventilation.

Our '06 does not have the box, and the PCV routing is different.

But then again, I read somewhere that the '05+ have a different cam, torque converter, ect.

Maybe it's there for a reason. I don't know.

Its an airflow resonator box.... basically it helps cut down on the "rice intake sucking sound" that you might hear without it.... it jsut swirls the airflow around and makes it a bit more turbulent than a straight through pipe...
