What is it with blower motor resistors, they only seem to last about 80K miles. I've replaced one in my wife's old pontiac, my ford taurus, and now the wife's liberty. The pontiac and the ford were delco parts made in Japan, I think the Jeeps is valeo made in Mexico.

It's a stupid simple job, took me maybe 10 minutes, and cost $29 for the Mopar resistor block from the dealer. Could have got one on rockauto for $14 shipped but I just don't trust the aftermarket parts anymore.

Was surprised how easy the glove box came out with no tools. Took a second looking at it and nearly broke the hinge trying to pop it off, before I realized it just slides to the right and slips off.

Don't pay the dealer nearly $300 for this fix. I think my wife could have done this one herself.

I have replaced 3 but still got the origional in the KJ. Some are easier to install and some are a real PIA. The worst one I did was the Cutlass as I had to stretch for it and the 2 "itty bitty" bolts were something like 4 mm which I lukiley had as I didn't have a screwdriver to get in there. Think it had 150,000 miles on it at the time? Some are easy to change and some are not I guess.

Sometimes they last a real long time and sometimes they don't. I try to use OEM parts where I can as sometimes they are better. (I think??) Parts are made all over though. I think the OEM GM resistor was made in Mexico as was the replacement part I got.
