I absolutley, positivley, 100% HATE the Compass...as a Jeep. If they threw chrysler badging on it, then I would love it. I REALLY like the looks of the compass in SRT form, with a chrysler grille.

Hell...if the compass had SOME kind of identity, than I wouldn't mind it. It's just that Jeep has always made vehicles that have a purpose-most of them have been off-road purposed. The Jeepster was a sportster, but it was built to be a touring sports car. I wouldn't have a problem with the compass as a Jeep if it followed suit. If they built the Compass to compete in Rallye racing, then it would be all good, because that is a purpose for the vehicle to exist. DCX has admitted that they built the Compass because the Caliber factory needed more work-which makes for a purposeless car. I think that they should revisit the design and have it come out the other side as something to compete with the Saab 9-3 Wagon and WRX Wagon, instead of the current design which competes directly with the Caliber.

Good day,

That red thing looks pretty sweet!
Looks like Jeep has joined the tuner market!
Going up against the Mazda 3 sport wagon, the
Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe. and the Suzuki SX4.

Right on, looks like that Rallye Edition might make
it into my driveway as a second car.

(Cheers)

Ryan

Socks, you hit the nail right on the head.

It really is not a "Jeep" in the true sence but a good rally type CAR to compete with the Subi's and models you mentioned. That is what it's intended market is. I understand why they built it, and I hope it sells well to help keep "Jeep" alive. It's amazing how a few "rallye mods" spiff it up a little.

I saw it at the show today and it looked really nice in person. The pictures don't do it justice. Not saying there's anything wrong with the pic's, but it just looks better in the flesh IMHO.
