I have a self-installed EVIC on my 2003 KJ. Everything works fine with it (including temp display, etc), except the automatic door lock function constantly disables itself.
Here's the scenario: If I start the Jeep and use the EVIC to set the automatic door locks to ON, the doors lock as expected when I start driving. But the next time I turn the engine off for any longer than a few minutes, the automatic door lock option resets itself back to 'NO."
Before you ask: 1) Yes, I tried another EVIC. Three in fact. They all display the same behavior. 2) Yes, I checked the quality of my connections. I actually re-did all the connections shortly after installed the first EVIC, but the behavior persists.
By the way, I've been putting up with this problem for about three years. I'm only now getting around to posting about it.
