Seems like standard shops rates.

Jobber pump is under $100 from rockauto. Shop is going to charge that out at about double, add some fluid, and a couple hours labour, tax.

If I didn't do my own repairs and maintenance, I could afford to own vehicles.

Brand new OEM pump?

If new OEM pump then that price is okay,a little high but next day shipping is big $$$.The markup for the pump would make the new OEM pump around $250-$300 and then 1.3 hours of labor(location dependant),shop supplies(IE fluid and rags used),and tax.

If remaned pump it's about $200 to high.

Do you know where this shop gets its parts? alot of shops in my area go through commercial parts dept at advanced auto, and if they dont have the parts in stock 90% of the time it comes and gets delivered the next day with no extra charge. So if thats the case your shop is charging you for next day air and pocketing that extra cash.

Was that a Dealer? If a Dealer it should be an OEM part. I don't know about the cost of the part?

As to the shipping, the Jeep/Mopar Dealer here (upstate NY) gets a parts truck in with OEM parts every morning from the warehouse downstate in Albany somewhere with parts ordered for the next days work on all vehicles they are working on. The parts come in the next morning on the truck unless it's something that has to come from an out-of-state warehouse. There is no delivery/shipping charge. I have ordered and picked up OEM parts from the Dealer service dpt. this way myself that the Dealer didn't have in stock and there was never a shipping charge. That's how it works here anyway. That's how the parts dpt guy explained it anyway. (I got my OEM skids and other stuff that way with no shipping charges)

If aftermarket parts (not OEM) from an independant shop and ordered from Advance or Autozone or someone else then it could be different and they would most likely charge for shipping.

As to the shop hourly labor rates, they are different everywhere and if you are downstate I am sure they are way higher downstate than up here.

If your just swapping speakers you should do it yourself. Its super easy and you can save yourself some cash
