air con mods

Hi, does anyone know if you can swap the later heater control bezel with the air con off/on switch on it, rather than always having it on when the air flow is switched to the windscreen,as with the older type bezel. Mine is a 2004 2.5 crd.
I assume that the basic wiring would be similar , or is there a mod i can do to the existing bezel ?. any info on this would be great, thanks.
